INTO THE BEECH FOREST
Follow clear water
to a wall of wild country.
The path begins beyond the Vidima hydroelectric plant and follows the Praskalska River into Central Balkan National Park. The forest closes gently around you—old beech, moss, timber bridges and the constant sound of water.
The eco-trail leads to a panorama of Severen Dzhendem’s rock walls, where Vidimsko Praskalo falls roughly 80 metres. The final viewpoint keeps a respectful distance from the cascade, making the scale of the reserve part of the experience.

THE ROUTE
A simple path
with a wild finish.
Vidima trailhead
Park near the hydroelectric station and follow the signed path beside the river.
Beech forest
Stay on the marked trail as it passes educational stops, bridges and shaded river bends.
Shtarbanov Stones
The valley narrows between the two rock formations before the final section.
Waterfall viewpoint
Take in the rock amphitheatre, turn back on the same route and leave no trace.
Go prepared
Wear shoes with grip, carry water and check conditions after heavy rain. Mobile coverage may be patchy. The trail enters a protected reserve landscape—stay on the route and take everything home.
